Safety & Security

The safety, security and well being of the OTZMA participants is our primary concern. Guidelines put forth for OTZMA participants are made, and updated, in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Education and the Jewish Agency Security Department. These bodies coordinate directly with the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), the Israeli Police and the SPNI (Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel).

Please be aware that due to the dynamic nature of Israel, its political situation and the peace process, OTZMA will constantly update OTZMAnikim on security issues and make necessary changes to the policy guidelines.

All participants are required to carry a cellular phone on them, charged and on 24 hours a day. In instances of Shabbat/holiday observance, considerations will be given for exceptions of this policy. Additionally, participants should have with them, at all times, the OTZMA staff contact card with numbers at which staff can be reached 24 hours a day in case of emergency.
